Industries

The 12 industries we write a cleaning scope for

Not twelve versions of the same page. Twelve different jobs — different surfaces, different equipment, different chemistry, different hours, and a different list of things a general cleaner gets wrong. Find your building.

Which industries does Clean Best clean?

Clean Best writes a separate commercial cleaning scope for twelve premises types: restaurants, cafes, retail stores, gyms, medical practices, dental practices, childcare centres, schools, warehouses, offices, hotels and strata schemes.

Each has its own page setting out what is cleaned every visit, what rotates weekly, what is periodic, and the hours the cleaner can be in the premises. The access window differs sharply by industry: restaurants are cleaned after close once equipment is cold, childcare centres overnight with no children present, warehouses around pick and dispatch runs, and hotel public areas continuously, because a hotel does not close.

Clean Best operates in Sydney and across New South Wales from 54 Columbia Rd, Seven Hills NSW 2147. It does not operate interstate. Every job is quoted after a free walkthrough, with a fixed price confirmed in writing within 24 hours and no lock-in contract.

Pick the one that is your building

Each page is written for that venue and nothing else. If a paragraph on it could be moved to another industry's page unchanged, it should not be on it.

When each kind of premises can actually be cleaned

The single thing that separates a cleaning contractor who understands your venue from one who does not. A schedule that does not fit the operation gets skipped, and a scope that quietly stops happening is worse than one that was never promised.

Typical Clean Best cleaning window by industry, and the operational reason for it
AreaWhen we clean itWhy that window
Restaurants and cafesAfter close, once the equipment is coldHot surfaces cannot be degreased and a kitchen mid-service has no floor space. The clean starts when the last plate is out.
Retail storesBetween roller-door down and the alarm going onThe window is short and fixed, so the scope is built to fit it rather than the other way round.
GymsOvernight or pre-dawn, before the first member scans inEquipment has to be dry and the floor has to be walkable by opening. Anything wet at 5am is a fall.
Medical and dental practicesAfter the last patient, clinical zones lastPublic areas are cleaned first and clinical rooms last, so nothing travels from a waiting room into a treatment room.
Childcare centresOvernight, with no children on the premisesEvery surface is at child height and everything gets mouthed. It is cleaned when the rooms are empty, with low-odour chemistry.
SchoolsAround the bell; the heavy work in the holidaysClassrooms and amenities daily, halls and canteens on their own cycle, and floor programs moved to the term breaks.
WarehousesAround your pick and dispatch runsA wet floor under a live forklift is a hazard, not an inconvenience. We work the aisles you are not working.
OfficesEvening, finished before the first person arrivesThe floor is judged in the morning, so the work has to be finished and the floor secured before anyone sees it.
HotelsContinuously — a hotel never closesPublic areas cannot be taken out of service, so they are cleaned in rotation with the quietest hours doing the heaviest work.
Strata schemesDaytime, common property onlyResidents are home at night. Foyers, lifts, stairs, bins and car parks are done in daylight and reported to the committee.

How it works

How a scope gets written, whatever your industry

Four steps. The second one is the one nobody else does.

  1. 1

Tell us what the premises is

Call 1300 494 983. The first question is never square metres. It is what kind of venue you run, what is in it, and what hours it is empty.

  2. 2

We walk it at the hour we would clean it

A supervisor comes out — and comes out late if that is when the work would happen. A kitchen at 11pm and a kitchen at 2pm are two different buildings.

  3. 3

A scope written for your venue

Within 24 hours: one fixed figure, and a task list split into every-visit, weekly and periodic work. Written for your industry, not adapted from an office.

  4. 4

    The same cleaner starts

Inducted on your access and your equipment, starting on the agreed date, with a named supervisor auditing the site monthly against the written scope.

FAQ

Questions about how we split the work by industry

What operators ask before moving off a one-size cleaning contract.

How do I know which industry page applies to my premises?

Clean Best organises these pages by the kind of building, not by the job title of the person reading. Pick the page that matches what your premises physically is: if you run a bakery with seating, the cafe page will describe your morning better than the retail page will. If you are not sure, ring us on 1300 494 983 and describe the room. It takes about ninety seconds and it is a better guide than any menu.

My premises is not one of the twelve. Can you still clean it?

Often, yes. Clean Best regularly works in venues that are close cousins of these twelve — veterinary clinics, allied health suites, places of worship, showrooms, function rooms, community centres. What we will not do is take a job we cannot do properly and work it out afterwards. Ring us, describe the premises, and we will tell you plainly whether it is close enough to something we already run a scope for, or whether you are better off with a specialist.

Can one contract cover more than one kind of premises?

Yes, and it is common. A group that runs a cafe, an office and a warehouse gets three scopes, three schedules and three inducted cleaners — but one supervisor, one site register and one invoice. What we will not do is write one scope and apply it to all three, which is the shortcut that produced most of the bad cleaning contracts these pages describe.

Do the cleaners actually change between industries?

The person does not necessarily change, but the induction always does. A Clean Best cleaner assigned to a dental surgery is inducted on that surgery: what to touch, what never to touch, what the chemistry is for each surface, and what to do if something looks wrong. A cleaner assigned to a warehouse is inducted on traffic, exclusion zones and hi-vis. The same cleaner may hold both inductions. Nobody works a site they have not been inducted on.

Where does Clean Best actually operate?

Clean Best operates in Sydney and across New South Wales from one depot at 54 Columbia Rd, Seven Hills NSW 2147. There are no interstate branches. If a premises sits outside the area we can staff with the same cleaner every week, we say so on the first call rather than take the work and subcontract it to somebody we have never met.

What is on every scope, regardless of industry?

Clean Best puts four things on every scope, whatever the venue: the tasks done every visit, the tasks that rotate weekly, the periodic programs and when they fall, and the access procedure — how the cleaner gets in, how the premises is secured on exit, and who holds the keys. Everything else on the document is specific to your industry, and if it could be lifted onto another industry's scope unchanged, it should not be there.
